Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ · Eid al-Adha 2026

Prophetic Qurbani

Revive the sunnah of the Messenger ﷺ who sacrificed two rams every year — one on behalf of his family, one on behalf of his entire ummah. Distributed where the need is greatest.

“The Prophet ﷺ sacrificed two horned rams, white with black markings, and he slaughtered them with his own hand, mentioning the name of Allah and saying the takbir.”

— Anas ibn Malik (RA) · Sahih al-Bukhari 5558 · Sahih Muslim 1966

Why Two Qurbani?

The Prophet ﷺ established two sacrifices each year: one for himself and his family, and one for those of his ummah who could not afford it. By giving two, you literally walk in his footsteps.

Frequently Asked Questions

About Prophetic Qurbani and how it differs from regular Qurbani.

What is Prophetic Qurbani?+
Prophetic Qurbani revives a confirmed sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, who sacrificed two rams every year of his life after the obligation was prescribed: one on behalf of himself and his family, and one on behalf of his ummah (all Muslims, including those who could not afford to give). It is reported by Anas ibn Malik (RA): "The Prophet ﷺ sacrificed two horned rams, white with black markings; he slaughtered them with his own hand, said the basmala and takbir." (Sahih al-Bukhari 5558, Sahih Muslim 1966).
How is Bakara 195's Prophetic Qurbani different from regular Qurbani?+
A Prophetic Qurbani is one share placed in the country of greatest documented need where local meat costs are lowest — currently Yemen, Somalia, and Bangladesh. This means a single Qurbani feeds the maximum number of families. Many donors give Prophetic Qurbani in addition to their primary Qurbani (which fulfills their personal obligation), explicitly intending the second one for the global ummah, following the Prophet's ﷺ example.
Does Prophetic Qurbani fulfill my personal obligation?+
Yes — one Prophetic Qurbani is religiously sufficient to fulfill the wajib (Hanafi) or sunnah mu'akkadah (Shafi'i, Maliki, Hanbali) obligation for one person. Many donors choose to give one Prophetic Qurbani for their personal obligation and another for the ummah, totalling two Qurbanis as the Prophet ﷺ did. The proxy certificate Bakara 195 issues is valid for whichever intention you select.
Where is Prophetic Qurbani distributed?+
For 2026, Bakara 195 distributes Prophetic Qurbani in Yemen, Somalia, and Bangladesh — three regions selected for: (1) acute documented humanitarian need, (2) presence of vetted field-partner organizations, (3) the lowest local meat-procurement cost so each Qurbani reaches the maximum number of people. All slaughters follow Islamic rites with veterinary inspection.
How much does Prophetic Qurbani cost?+
A single Prophetic Qurbani is $210 / £170 / €195 (≈ ₺7,000). To follow the Sunnah literally with two Qurbani — one for yourself, one for the ummah — the recommended package is $420 / £340 / €390. There is no premium added: the entire amount goes to animal procurement, slaughter, and distribution. Bakara 195 charges 0% management fee.
Will I receive a proxy certificate?+
Yes. Within minutes of payment a proxy certificate (vekalet) and donation receipt are emailed to you in PDF format. If you give two Qurbani (Prophetic + personal), you receive two separate certificates. A photo distribution report follows within 2-3 weeks of Eid.
