2026 Qurbani Prices (Comparison)
International prices align with leading UK Muslim charity benchmarks (Human Appeal, Islamic Relief, Muslim Aid). Türkiye-domestic diaspora prices are higher because they reflect Türkiye-market meat costs. International rates reach more families per donation due to lower local meat costs in target regions (Palestine, Syria, Somalia, Yemen, Bangladesh). Each price covers animal cost (~82%), veterinary-supervised slaughter and processing (~11%), and logistics (~7%). Bakara 195 takes 0% management fee; the full amount goes to the field.

What is Qurbani? Religious Ruling
Qurbani (Arabic: Qurbān, "to draw near") is the ritual sacrifice of a permitted animal during Eid al-Adha to commemorate Prophet Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail and Allah's replacement of the sacrifice with a ram (Surah As-Saffat 37:102-107). According to classical Islamic jurisprudence, Qurbani is either wajib (obligatory) or sunnah mu'akkadah(highly emphasized sunnah) for every adult, sane, resident Muslim possessing the nisab — in either case, it is a strongly recommended act of worship.
For a sacrifice to be valid: (1) the owner must be Muslim, (2) the animal must be of a permitted species, (3) it must meet age requirements (sheep/goat ≥ 1 year, cattle ≥ 2 years, camel ≥ 5 years), and (4) it must be free of major defects (blindness, lameness, missing ear or tail). All Bakara 195 animals are veterinary-inspected and meet these conditions.
Religious Ruling and Validity
Classical Islamic jurisprudence considers Qurbani either obligatory (wajib) or a highly emphasized sunnah (sunnah mu'akkadah) for every adult, sane, resident Muslim possessing the nisab. In either case, it is strongly encouraged. The customary distribution of meat (one-third for the poor, one-third for relatives and neighbors, one-third for the household) is sunnah; in proxy Qurbani, since the donor cannot personally receive a portion, Bakara 195 distributes the entire meat to families in need.
Bakara 195's proxy (vekalet) text is drafted in accordance with Islamic rites. The ritual slaughter procedure (basmala + cutting the jugular veins) is the shared standard in classical fiqh, making the proxy religiously valid. For jurisdiction-specific or personal questions, please consult a scholar of your tradition.
Proxy (Vekalet) Authorization
Vekalet (Arabic: wakālah) is the appointment of an agent to perform a task on one's behalf. Classical Islamic jurisprudence agrees that Qurbani may be performed via proxy. Bakara 195 acts as your wakeel, performing the sacrifice on your behalf, distributing the meat per Islamic rules, and bearing the religious responsibility (shar'i mas'uliyyah) throughout.
For the proxy to be valid: (a) the principal (you) must be sane and adult, (b) the authorization must be explicit (written, spoken, or electronic confirmation), (c) the agent must accept the task. Checking "I have read and accept the proxy text" on Bakara 195 constitutes a valid wakālah contract; your timestamp is recorded with your donation.
