A masjid is the heart of a Muslim community — a place of worship, education, and social cohesion. Building masjids in regions where they are most needed creates Sadaqah Jariyah that benefits the donor and the community for generations.
Bakara 195's masjid building program prioritizes projects in regions where the existing masjid infrastructure is insufficient — particularly in post-conflict zones and underserved rural communities. We work with verified local construction networks and architects to ensure each project meets community needs and structural standards.
Every contribution, regardless of size, contributes to a permanent place of worship. Bricks, prayer rugs, wudhu tiles, classroom rooms — every layer of construction needs funding. The reward is shared by every donor for as long as the masjid stands.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is masjid building Sadaqah Jariyah?+
The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever builds a masjid for the sake of Allah — even the size of a sandgrouse's nest — Allah will build for them a house in Paradise" (Bukhari 450). As long as people pray in that masjid, the donor continues to earn rewards. This is the literal definition of Sadaqah Jariyah (ongoing charity).
Where is the masjid being built?+
Bakara 195 partners with verified local construction networks in regions where masjid infrastructure is most needed — including post-conflict zones, refugee resettlement areas, and underserved rural communities. Specific project locations are announced before contributions are accepted for that project.
How is construction verified?+
Each masjid project includes pre-construction site survey, architectural plans, monthly construction progress photos (with full project documentation), and post-completion field photos. All documentation is published in monthly transparency reports.
Can I dedicate my contribution in someone's name?+
Yes. Named contributions ($25,000 and above for named room sponsorship; $100,000 for full minaret) are documented and the dedication is recorded in the project archive. Smaller contributions can be made in honor or memory of a loved one and acknowledged in the receipt.
Is this Zakat-eligible?+
Masjid building is generally not eligible for Zakat under classical fiqh because Zakat must be given to specific recipient categories (Quran 9:60), not to construction. However, it qualifies as Sadaqah Jariyah, Sadaqah, or general charity, all of which carry significant reward.
